Don't Forget about your FSA account!
As we approach the end of the year we get so busy with Christmas buying and end of the year activities and sometimes can be forgetful. So here is your reminder. If your Flexible Spending Account is not a 0 by the end of the year - you will lose your money (check with your employer because some companies have different end of year dates). To get your account to 0 be sure to see your doctor and get a checkup, fill prescriptions, and do all of the things you normally do. However, if you still have $$ in your FSA after you've done all of your normal health checkup activities, then here are some other activities to consider to dwindle away at that FSA!
1. Get your eyes checked and order glasses or contacts if necessary
2. See your Chiropractor or Physical Therapist
3. Stock up on over the counter medicines like cough syrup, pain relievers, etc (yes - these are eligible)
4. Stock up on contact solution, nasal sprays, and the like
If your medicine cabinet is full and you still extra $$ in your FSA be sure to grab some FSA eligible items to donate to your local shelter.
